medicare humana: Medicare Special Needs Plans from Humana (SNPs)

What is an SNP?

All the advantages of Original Medicare (Parts A and B) and prescription medication coverage (Part D) are rolled into one convenient package in a Medicare Advantage plan known as a Special Needs Plan (SNP), which is only offered to Medicare recipients who meet extra criteria. Particularly, people who:

  • suffer from a well-defined long-term illness.
  • accept both Medicare and Medicaid and qualify for both programs.
  • Stay at a nursing home for an extended period.

If you need more assistance than a standard health plan can offer, Humana’s Special Needs Plans can give that.

One of the many attractive features of Humana’s SNPs is the low or even nil monthly premiums.

SNPs offer benefits tailored to address your special healthcare needs

Members can receive tailored advice and support from SNPs that are designed to meet their unique circumstances and requirements. Diabetes services, care coordination, and other health and wellness programs are just a few examples of the specialized benefits that the plan may provide for the populations it serves.

You need to have Medicare Parts A and B and also satisfy the requirements of the SNP you want to join.

Coverage for regular dental, eye, and hearing exams; non-emergency transportation to and from medical appointments; fitness programs; a budget for over-the-counter drugs; and possibly more may all be part of the package, depending on the particular plan.
